In India, having a ‘sportsman’s spirit’ is perhaps one of the biggest compliments to receive. Irrespective of age, gender, religion & any other possible differentiation that exists, the country unifies the day India plays another country. We love Bollywood & are ardent fans of all the stars but we bleed sports & idolize our sportsmen a tad bit more.

Here’s a list of legends who’ve left a mark of themselves on us & the world-

Milkha Singh

It’s not for nothing that he’s known as ‘the flying Sikh’. The pride of India did a lot more than winning medals; he did what nobody else did, back in his time. Milkha Singh introduced running as a profession to the country. His journey is not only about the gold medals he won for the country but also the victory he missed by an inch in the Rome Olympics where he finished faster than the standing world record. He’s a game changer, a game winner, a legend & an unmatched sportsperson.
